Thrifty AI builds artificial humans — live, AI-generated people who can see, hear, remember and act. They look like us, talk like us and behave like us. Our mission is to give AI a human face, so every person, in every language, at any hour, can be heard, understood and helped. We build end to end: our own Maya human models, the Thrifty Studio platform that grounds them in a company’s own data, and the guardrails that keep people in control of every decision that matters.

With hubs across the USA, India, the UAE and Australia, our team thinks big and moves fast, and we’re looking for smart, hardworking builders and scalers to join us on our journey to create a better future of work with AI.

🛣 Where we come from

  • Thrifty AI was co-founded by Harsh Jha and Tanishi Mookerjee, two lifelong gamers who wondered why AI couldn’t have a face, a voice and a life of its own, the way game characters do. They were building artificial humans long before agentic AI was a category.
  • The idea found its problem during COVID-19, when Harsh waited sixty minutes on hold with an airline for an answer that took thirty seconds. People can’t scale, so bottlenecks form. AI can.
  • Today our artificial humans greet guests, train teams, tutor students and serve citizens in 70+ languages, in the cloud or fully on-prem. Our obsession isn’t how intelligent AI can become, it’s how secure, reliable and trustworthy it is, and that conviction shapes everything we ship. Read our story.
